Breakfast is vital. It raises blood sugar levels and kick-starts the body’s metabolism. Without it, the body simply runs out energy. This healthy start to the day can improve children’s concentration and behaviour throughout the day.
"The main purpose of a breakfast club is to provide a safe, secure environment before school, where children can have a decent breakfast with their friends,’ says Kate Price, corporate social responsibility manager for Kellogg’s.
They also play an important role in providing before-school children for families where parents work or need to get other children to different schools or childcare settings.
Schools report that attendance has improved as a result of breakfast clubs.
Thanks to the ongoing support of Magic Breakfast we are able to offer children a varied and healthy menu. This may include toasted bagels with a choice of topping, porridge, a variety of cereals and fresh fruit juice.
