XTND update during school closures

Sorry we have been a little quiet. We are still here and we are still working hard. Obviously our projects and our work have had to change dramatically since we went into lockdown. We are still supporting schools and families as much as we can. This is the first time we have had to cancel a holiday club in recent times. This has been really hard for us. We love holiday club as we know you do too. You will have been contacted by now if you had a place booked. This has been replaced by schools remaining open to provide care for those children attending due to key worker status and we are supporting schools to deliver this provision.

So, what else are we doing? Well, we’re working behind the scenes to catch up on paperwork, keep finances up to date, update risk assessments etc. Jenny at Windwhistle Primary School is working on a programme of free or low cost summer holiday activities that could be introduced to families and then run by themselves for their children during the holidays. The bike maintenance evening has been temporarily ‘parked’ until we return to school. Alice has been mainly supporting Bournville Primary School by delivering lunches for the families receiving them at home. She has also been out in the community making activity packs and helping families find activities and keeping entertained. Alice will be helping Jenny with Summer holiday activity planning. We will be back! And would welcome your input as to what family and/or adult activities you would like us to look in to for when we return. So please do comment :-)
